Fair Trade Diamonds

What Is The Kimberley Process

The Kimberley Process is an international initiative established in 2000 to regulate the trade of rough diamonds and prevent the sale of conflict diamonds. Conflict diamonds, also known as "blood" diamonds, are diamonds that are used to finance military activities against legitimate governments. These diamonds have been linked to human rights violations in countries like Angola, Sierra Leone, and the Democratic Republic of the Congo. At Store Fifty-Two, we have a long-standing commitment to ethical business practices and only work with suppliers who share this commitment. Our direct relationship with diamond cutters allows us to carefully select our suppliers and ensure that they follow the Kimberley Process and the Voluntary System of Warranties. We take the issue of conflict diamonds very seriously and fully support the Kimberley Process to eliminate their sale and trade.
